About Techonomics

Techonomics was founded by Ricardo Barrientos (Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer) and Rodrigo Pérez-Alonso (Lawyer), with more than 30 combined years of experience in the public and private sectors.
Their experience includes participation in companies and government entities related to business consulting, infrastructure financing, telecommunications, regulatory affairs and social development programs.
Among the companies and entities in which they have participated are Boston Consulting Group, Televisa Corporation, Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of Mexico.

Rodrigo Pérez-Alonso

Partner

Bachelor of Law (ITAM), Master Public Policy (University College London). Master of Public Administration (Harvard University). He previously served as Director of Planning and Evaluation at Telecomm-Telegrafos, state-run company with more than 15,000 employees, operates 1,615 telegraph offices, government satellites and fiber optic network. Member of the transition team of President-elect Peña Nieto. Federal Congressman in the LXI Legislature where he chaired the Special Committee on Digital Access and served as Senior Member in the Economics Committee. In the private sector, he worked as a lawyer in various top-tier firms and as Director of Regulatory Affairs at Televisa Corporacion.

In March 2013 the World Economic Forum selected him as a member of the Forum of Young Global Leaders. Since 2010 he is a national columnist in Excelsior (Opinion, Money) and has written for magazines such as Forbes Mexico, Politica Digital and the Prodigy MSN internet portal.

Ricardo Barrientos Lopez

Research Associate

Electronics and communications engineer (Technological University of Mexico). Former director and founder of the Committee for Democratization of Information Technology (CDI Mexico), an international civil society organization (CSO) that promotes digital inclusion and entrepreneurship within disadvantaged communities.

Contributor to several civil society organizations, including Services to Youth, Lindavista Center and the Pontifical University of Mexico. He has taught at several educational institutions, promoting training and youth social entrepreneurship. Former President of the International Independent Youth organization, based in Paris, France.

Currently a consultant in information technology and corporate social responsibility, advising SMEs and CSOs in IT planning and social appropriation of technology.
